“SANKEY EVENING”

Come along and enjoy an evening of dramatic story and song about the life and music of IRA D. SANKEY.

Join us in singing some of the well known and loved Sankey hymns such as

“Beneath the Cross of Jesus”

“Hiding in Thee”

“It Passeth Knowledge”

“I am Trusting Thee Lord Jesus”

Refreshments served in the hall after the singing

Sometimes life seems hard to bear

Full of sorrow, trouble and woe

It’s then I have to remember

That it’s in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top

And never experienced pain,

I would never appreciate God’s love

And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn

And my growth is very slow,

Sometimes I need the mountain tops,

I do not always understand

Why things happen as they do,

But I am very sure of one thing

My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing

When I picture Christ on the cross

He went through the valley of death;

His victory was Satan’s loss.

Forgive me, Lord, for complaining

When I’m feeling so very low,

Just give me a gentle reminder

That it’s in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord

And use my life each day

To share your love with others

And help them find their way.

A new format was used and the children took part with their own items. Rev. Gareth Edwards led the prayers and gave the Christmas message.

It was a wonderful prelude to the highly popular Lantern Walk through the village.

Local Preachers and worship leaders who would like to lead on a Tuesday are invited to contact Gwenllian Knighton  and any dates are available from end of January onwards.

ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE

IS BEING HELD ON SUNDAY

30^th OCTOBER FROM 6.00 pm

Everyone is invited to attend and to
remember loved ones who have died and were so special that they are forever in
our hearts and minds.

If you wish, you will be able to light a candle and to have the name of your loved-one
added to a “Role of Honour”

Light refreshments will be served after
the service and transport home within the village will be provided if requested.

The service will be taken by Victory Outreach – young people whose lives have been changed from drug/drink dependency to new life.

Tea and coffee will be served after the service.

The choir have taken this step in order to make their presence known in the wider world. Their constitution clearly says that they exist in order to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ in a modern way through the medium of music and drama. The choir make themselves available for mission and outreach events as well as performing concerts of their own.
